I found this on Facebook! Everything about it is so true, except for point 10 maybe cause we were allowed to eat in class already haha.

1. You go to Boston/Geneva/New York/Paris/London/Berlin once a week
2. You walk past Learning Lab and know it's not a clinic
3. You have a secret notebook
4. You collected all the stickers telling you which class to go to
5. You look forward to childrens day because you get ben and jerrys/ chocz / macs vouchers
6. You have lever arch files packed with thick sets of notes because they use paper like nobody's business
7. When you pay your tuition fees, you get your receipts printed on thick, embossed conqueror paper, presented to you in a sleek silver envelope.
8. Your classroom activities include building a lava lamp, keeping fighting fish, and going to pet the rabbits and guinea pigs during toilet breaks.
9. Your tuition classroom has nicer furniture than your house (i.e. glass panels for whiteboards, 10000 inch LCD "fireplaces", random mini LCD screens around the corridors, a Mr. Bean cartoon being beamed out of nowhere...)
10. You spend half your tuition time begging your teacher to let you go down to subway, 7eleven, macs, cold storage or starbucks.
If TLL (click) had tuition for GP I would so go for it. :)

Also, Yumiko, Kristel and I absolutely love Boys Over Flowers haha, I thought it was a just another drama initially but OMG I'v watched it the second time (with some parts forwarded of course) and I still love it. :) I like Ji Hoo's and Yi Jung's dressing(Gucci!)/designer garb in general. But the guys aren't good looking hah.

Oh and TEL and I were talking about how we want to migrate overseas and drive to the countryside in our sports cars with our boyfriends in a straight line, (see video at 2.30, here) HAHAHA damn cool. We hate living here please.

I've been shopping so much in June and July haha I think I've got more than 15 pieces of new clothing. :)

On a sidenote I made chocolate tarts filled with banana caramel, salted caramel ganache and chocolate mousse mmm so good I think I will post a picture soon. My mum said it was the best thing she ever tasted. I saw her sneaking mouthfuls of salted caramel ganache just now haha.

Terms ended on Thursday, yay 4.5 days of no school. :) OH speaking of Thurdays I love watching Heston Blumenthal's (click) 'In Search of Perfection' everyhting he makes looks so freaking good. I want to dine at his 3-Michelin-starred restaurant The Fat Duck (best restaurant in UK and voted Best restaurant in the world, click) one day, it's one of the things I must do before I die haha.

Anyway here are pictures! From part of my June holidays and after terms. More later!

1 more week to the holidays! I can't wait. :) I really miss the times last year in December where I could do just about anything and everything... Now I have to wait for a little less then 1.5 years before I can really have a break, and hopefully go to Paris with the friends. :)

Mm anyway, I'm not uploading pictures on Facebook, sorry! My pictures look horrible there and I'm too lazy to tag people etc. haha.

Hi hi!

I'm going for the Audi Fashion Festival/Vivienne Westwood AW 09/10 show with TEL... so yay. :) And maybe the Zouk Flea Market too. That's one thing to look forward to. School sucks, as usual.

Oh can I just say how irritating it is to see many people carrying nice branded bags (ESPECIALLY LOUIS VUITTON THE MOST DISGUSTING THING ON EARTH) and think they look very chic when they have trashy dressing/a horrendous sense of style (think hot shorts with heels/platforms/Ah lian dressing)... One needs to remember that it's the clothes, shoes and accessories that maketh the man.

Mm check out Ashley Isham's SS 09 Collection... it's really pretty.

Moving on, pictures! From school and meet ups with friends, not in chronological order.

We had more pictures but Kristel said "OMG damn ugly" and deleted the rest haha.

Thursday, April 2, 2009, 3:35 AM

Ahaha hello :)

School's fine... Friends make it so much better. :) So much has happened in the past 1 or 2 months so much so that I can't list it down. The trip to Japan during the March holidays was a really nice and much needed break. :) I love the weather! So incredibly nice. I was so lucky to see the cherry blossoms. (This should be a photoblog)

My Dad just told me we’re going to Tokyo/Nagoya during the March holidays… yay. :)
He says I can go fruit picking too. :) Ooh I want to pick strawberries. Hello Pierre Hermé, Ladurée and Sadaharu Aoki!!!

I feel my energy being sapped away nowadays, BS photoshoot, CCA training, meetings… My life is becoming a routine yet again. I guess I’m going to school so as to go back home again (does that make sense). Haha I love my home… Melin too.

The OG is fun, playing badminton, hitting the gym, spotting each others’ hot guys and spending time in the viewing room in the library playing Taboo and Scrabble, apart from the guys (and Joanna’s friends James and someone else whose name I forgot) cracking lame ‘sponge’ jokes over and over again.

Anyhow there was this girl I met in photography, she asked me if my camera costs more then $1000 and I was like yeah, and she said that was 5 months of her Dad’s pay which was $200 a month… I was caught off guard for a moment. That was one point in my life where I felt awkward.

I am so blessed.

_____

[Girl, please stop being all flirtatious with the boys and being all bitchy and mean towards the girls… Such behavior is utterly revolting and nauseating. It is so obvious that many (i.e. girls and boys) can tell. It is no wonder you have little, if not any, true friends.]

_____

I just listened to White Lies' To Lose My Life on Melin's blog and I am so in love with it now... it has been on repeat on my iTunes.

Anyway this is from her blog, it's hilarious.

"Maybe the song isn't bad, but it's really cheesy and terrible and dumb which some people might consider bad.

It goes:
There's only one thing to do
Three words for you
(I love you)
I love you

It's 1234 by Plain White T's. How do you go from Hey there Delilah to this? That's why Delilah left
I think it's supposed to play out like that:

There's only 1 thing 2 do,
3 words 4 you,
I love you.

which is totally tacky because they're playing on the 1234 thing.
Darn. Well anyways I can do to more numbers!

1 thing, 2 do,
3 words, 4 you
I love you
Give me high 5.
want to have 6?
Let's go for lunch at 7-11
Unless you already 8
But if you come with me I'll be on cloud 9
and when we get married the song will be 10 10 10 10, 10 10 10 10."

IMO, I think Hey There Delilah is terribly overrated. Non-mainstream (is there another word for it?) music suits me better.

I'll do a proper post tomorrow.
_____

I am using alot of "IMOs" nowadays... hmm not good not good.

And on another note, everyone please stop using 'pon'/'ponning' and use the word 'skip'/'skipping' instead!!!

TTM called the coach 'Da Shu' (inspired from Hong Kong movies) hahaha hilarious. And Wei Ling kept pointing the pistol towards the coach.

Oh and I've dropped chinese... YES NO CHINESE FORVER!!! The HOD tried to convince me to take Chinese but hell no... I'm going overseas anyway so they don't give a damn.

This is my Mum's birthday cake (Strawberry + Bailey's) which I made. :) I can't stop taking pictures of it! I can't recall when I last made a cake a cake for someone. It must have been months/years back. Which reminds me... I still owe C and E their cakes!

CNY was spent watching movies with my favourite cousin, Susan. :) We watched Bridewars, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Yesman and Twilight. I dislike Twilight (the book)... but I thought the movie was actually okay. Oh and they played Supermassive Black Hole, my all-time favourite song (it is at the top of my Top 25 most played playlist, naturally) , during the baseball scene so plus points for that!

Ah and we also watched 10 minutes of High School Musical 3 and switched to another movie. What a dumb movie. It's actaully the first movie I stopped watching halfway and never intend to continue doing so.

Ok moving on, I only visited one house (my Dad's side). I didn't wear new clothes cause I couldn' find any. We didn't really have a huge reunion dinner. And we had French/Western food. Yeah it's weird, I know. I guess we're a... modern Chinese family? Speaking of which, the chef looks like Brad Pitt. Seriously, I kid you not.

I'll let the pictures do the talking. :)

These days I have been going out, geared with money to spend on shopping, only to come home empty-handed. :( It's so hard to find something I like now. And Far East Plaza should stop copying things directly off the runway and mass produce it.

Looking for an especial shopping experience, TEL and I heeded Astrid's advice to visit her heartland mall, Jurong Point. Okay it's quite big... and new. But I didn't buy anything yet again. We walked over to her house thereafter.

Photobucket

I LOVE COOKING MAMA!!! Sorry if a sound a tad too enthusiastic, but I never knew you could do things like blow the soup for real. I live in the Gameboy era.

Following that, Bukit Timah Market with the prefects and Esther (why do i always find myself sayng that?).

Photobucket

Astrid's Kuay chap (sp?) a.k.a. pig's intestines.

I went for some Canon course which came free with the purchase of the DSLR. I am the only one who doesn't carry my camera in a proper camera bag and put on my lens cap without fail. Whatever I have been doing it for the longest time and my camera is still in excellent condition. The only mishap that happened was when I was in a toilet cubicle in Paris. I was trying to hang my camera on the door hook and it bumped against the door with a loud thud. Thankfully nothing happened to my camera.

Photobucket

I think I might still have overdue pictures to post... Will try and sift them out!

Soo, results are finally out! I'm immensely happy with what I got. I was hoping for a perfect score of 6 but 7 is not too bad either. :)

The calls/smses keep on coming in, even my grandmother knows about it. I don't now how she found out, because I never breathed a word about it to her.

I'm laughing all the way to the bank, it is flowinggg in. :) HOHOHOHO. Gucci bag/Miu Miu clutch here I come!!!!! :)

Tuesday, January 6, 2009, 8:55 PM

I love Ellen Degeneres and her show! This clip cracks TEL and I up all the time. Watch the whole clip, but 5:17 is our favourite part!

In addition, although this sounds terribly bimbotic I love all the dresses that Paris Hilton wore on Paris Hilton's my new BFF show (TTYN, haha. TEL’s watching it too!), the clothes are so incredibly gorgeous and very me. I wouldn't want to be her BFF though.

I made Green Tea Mont Blanc! I really like it. :)
Photobucket
Honey Matcha Financier base and Matcha white chocolate truffle enrobed in chestnut cream.
Also, macarons! Finally. Chestnut and Nutella macarons. :) I'm pleased with it, considering it's my maiden attempt.

Photobucket
Yay I'm making good use of my holidays.

Yesterday my Mum asked me if I wanted to go to Le Cordon Bleu in Paris after A Levels, probably cause she read about it in he papers that day. Hahah actually I don't mind going to Paris itself and not use the money to enroll in the patisserie course but to use to money to shop instead.

It feels great sleeping/eating/swimming/going out/spending money while others are at school. :)

Anyway, results are coming out next Monday (click here)! My heartbeat gets all irregular thinking about it...

Yesterday I went out with TEL!
Didn't do much shopping for CNY though, it is so hard to find something I have in mind, because all the shops sell similar clothing. :( Anyway instead of shopping at the usual haunts (i.e. Wisma, Heeren, etc.) we walked around Taka, DFS Galleria and Paragon... in search of TEL's Burberry wallet, which sadly, could not be found... Which reminds me of the stupid Burberry salesperson who tried to con us. Well all in all it was a pleasant and enjoyable shopping experience. :)

Photobucket

Met up with Esther, Jacq and Astrid for ice-cream at Ben & Jerry's @ Dempseys. Um I'm really not a fan of Ben & Jerry's, but the company was good. :) Before that I met Astrid to go shopping for a bit. We were trying to convince Astrid to buy something from Topshop. Mmm I do not have a single piece of clothing from Topshop, contrary to popular belief. I hate it, it's seriously overrated. So are geek glasses.

Photobucket

Oh I just found out Rosalind Pho (sp?) is my neighbour. And I saw the nyona... Zhenzhu or something at Liang Court's Kino.

Sunday, December 28, 2008, 6:43 AM

Am I the only one who doesn’t like watching Little Nyona? I finished watching the recorded episodes in less than half an hour because I kept fast forwarding. I find that show so incredibly slow-moving.

Desserts (for Christmas) I made!

Photobucket

Crushed dried rosebuds, rose-white chocolate whipped ganache, raspberry gelee, litchi gelee. Inspired by Pierre Hermé's Emotion Ispahan. :) So good I can still remember how it tastes like.

I saw a cookbook by Pierre Hermé in Virgin Megastore in Paris on all his macarons gosh they look so incredibly good, pity it was in French. Sigh I wish I knew how to make macarons.

Dinner with the extended family thereafter at Dempseys. I passed a box of La Maison Du Chocolat chocolates to Susan via Aunty Kat, and she called me to say it was the best chocolate she had tasted in her life haha. I’m craving it so much, it’s truly one of the 10 best chocolatiers in Paris/the world. It’s so expensive though, one piece costs at least 3 SGD.

Yun Ching has come back from Brisbane!!! Met up with her and her sister Yun Fang some time ago. We watched Nick and Norah’s infinite Playlist, which I thought was okay. I’m no movie buff. Conversations about the family between her and her cousin are hilarious. Oh we went to Far East because her cousin was there and went into 2 shops selling tee-shirts that looked really alike with 2 guys who wore the same outfit working as salespersons who looking really alike too so we thought he followed us from one shop to the other but it turned out to be otherwise haha.

“So you’re not the same guy in that shop just now?”

“No.”

Hahahahah.

Went to her house after some time, her uncle used to be my Dad’s colleague!

Then my Dad picked me up and they talked and I got to stay for another half an hour. :)

Walking through HDBs at night is really creepy.

Mum and I made gyozas/potstickers a few days back. :) Yumm.

Photobucket

I am in love with this ruby ring my Mum gave me. Apparently my Dad gave it to my Mum when they were dating haha. Small but beautiful. On anoher note I have a fetish for cocktail rings now. :)

Met up with Ethel yesterday at Vivo City, which is not really that big. We are both late whenever we meet up haha. WE had the “shopped in Japan/Paris” syndrome so we didn’t get anything in the end because everything was so common. I think once you’ve been to Orchard you would have covered every shop to be found in Singapore. Sad.

This week and the next are going to be really fun! I thought Adrian and Nat were coming back on the 23rd but they popped up in church on the 21st instead what a nice surprise. We're going to Bukit Timah Market/Food centre! Yay I haven't been there in ages... I miss the carrot cake, I think that's one of the few chinese foods I like.

And thanks for your Christmas presents/well wishes everyone. :)

Paris Part II

I miss the people, the atmosphere, the food, the shopping, the supermarkets...

Everyone dresses well, guys dress à la Jude Law, with trousers at the perfect length, just above the shoe, fitted jackets, and women donning fur coats and well-fitting jeans with stilettos.

I lost my black leather jacket, so I had to wear the blue jacket for 12 days. :( Should have been the chamber maid. I don't think I've lost anything expensive before (Yes I am actually more responsible than you hah), so this should be a first.

Paris Part I

I’m so bored! But it beats being stressed out anytime. Anyway I’m back from France and Germany, which has made me hate living in Singapore even more. The trip was beyond awesome, re-visiting some places, shopping, Christmas markets, eating, a ton of cheeses, casual banter with strangers and tasting some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. :) I want to migrate to Paris! Pity I can’t speak French. I only know how to get around, understand what I’m ordering and buying and speak basic phrases. :( Mummy says I can go there with my friends next time, and TEL says she can go with me in the future too! :)

The people and weather were nice, gosh I love the way everyone dresses! Tres chic. Unlike S’pore where everyone looks like everyone else, has a generic dress sense, shops/eats at the same place (Orchard is passé, Dempsey’s FTW!)… yuck. Yeah I think I’m talking about myself too sometimes.

Image overkill. :)

Breakfast, yumyum. Pastries, desserts and cakes took up 3/4 of the buffet spread.

/edit/ 26th Nov 2008

Pictures! I’ll go into details when I get back from France/Germany.

St. James.

We entered the wrong party at first at Movida but it was so interesting, better than XOXO at Powerhouse, in terms of music and entertainment. It was such an eventful night! Saving Melin (HAHAH), lecherous men, gay guy + Astrid, Astrid’s urge to dance, people dressed casually, groping, cabaret, cool stamps (“Remember to show them the right hand!” [which Astrid failed to do haha] ) fights, hilarious robotic dancing, drunkards, rude people, guest list, cranberry drinks, “This is Singapore”!

I heard it became even more eventful after I left hehe. Thank you very much Astrid, Lianne, Melin (and thanks for the European playlist too!) as well as Esther for that night. :)

Ahh will miss my Channel U 10 o' clock show and channel 8 9 o' clock show (yes very loser I know but I have nothing better to do). Thank goodness for DVD recorders.
____________

This week will be a very enjoyable week. :)

Today I went last-minute shopping with Mummy for winter clothes (hate doing last minute things BTW, shopping or not), because we realized some of them had lost their elasticity etc. and some leather gloves have mould on them (going to buy a new pair in Paris though, leather gloves here are very expensive :( ) Sucks I only get to wear winter clothing once a year. If Singapore had winter I would have a plethora of scarves (love them) and jackets.

Tomorrow I’m getting my new lenses and filter for my camera, then its shopping at Vivo for a while before meeting Astrid, Lianne, Melin and Esther for dinner. St. James thereafter. :)

Wednesday would be the bussing trip around Singapore and Twelve + One Pâtisserie. Head to the airport at night and then I’ll fly off to Paris the next morning. :) Yay can’t wait. Croissants, baguettes, escargots, French onion soup, Crazy Horse… Pierre Hermé! Ladurée! Sadaharu Aoki! Fauchon! La Maison Du Chocolat! G. Detou! Mora! Le Bon Marché! Pozzetto! Grom! Even the best desserts/pâtisseries in Singapore pale in comparison to those in Paris. Actually I hate eating bread, save for tuna buns, sausage buns, white bread and those served in French restaurants with butter on them. But bread in Paris is heavenly. :)

P.S. Spoiler for ANTM Cycle 11

I’m apathetic towards McKey winning but I still think Analeigh should have been in the final two (and won). :(

P.P.S. Aunt Irene offered me a job! It sounds intriguing, running around dressing models/celebrities/ “football stars” (In Singapore? Dream on). Plus, the pay is good! $80 a day for 8 hours of work. And Aunt Irene thought it wasn’t enough.

P.P.P.S. It's a devil to wear Prada...have you seen this?

P.P.P.P.S. I baked! For the first time in 2/3 months?

I finally had my fringe cut! It was so disgusting. My previous hairdresser left, the new one's weird even though he does a pretty good job. And he wears the grossest Gucci shoes (even though I like Gucci). I feel like changing my hairstylist.

Zouk flea market with Ethel! :) Waited for her for 45 minutes (I hate waiting BTW) but while waiting I was talking to this (young) woman sitting beside me on the bench about stuff, like “How’s the flea market I only come here for clubbing; my friend’s late yeah so is mine etc.” Sigh it reminds me of Europe/Australia where I can just talk to any stranger. Singapore should have more people like her.

You’ve got to love Agyness Deyn. :)

Plus, Melin, Ee and I think the womanizer in the Womanizer music video is pretty hot. :) Watch it to believe it! (Don't be momentarily stunned by a naked Britney. There's no frontal nudity. :))

On a more pensive note my cousin passed away, which was quite a shock for me since she's only in her thirties and has a 3 year old son. This might sound hackneyed but life truly is unpredictable.

In light of this I think we're postponing the trip to Paris to late December/early January (before 11 January, thanks for the useful info Zoe!). But at least I'm still going to Europe (and having weekly French lessons with Tristan). :) I need to shop for high rise boots too, since viewing The Sartorialist has spurred me to dress better in winter (if only Singapore had 4 seasons). I don't want to look like another plain old tourist.

Well, make the most out of your holidays everyone! Carpe diem!
